C is for Cookie

With ice cream around the corner, can cookie be far behind?

Here are some scrumptious cookies for your child's tea party. Indulge in them as much as you want for they are completely sugar-free ;)!

Fresh from the oven!

What is your favorite?!

Things Needed:

  • Assorted felt sheets - baby pink, dark brown, ivory, tan and rainbow colors
  • cotton thread and needle
  • polyfill for stuffing

Time taken: 15 minutes or less

Tutorial:

Heart-shaped cookie:

  1. Cut out hearts of equal size from brown and baby pink felts.  Cut out a smaller heart in red.
  2. Sew the red heart in the middle of the baby pink heart. You can hand-sew with a running stitch or use a machine like I did.
  3. With right sides facing each other, sew the brown heart and pink heart together along the edge, leaving an inch opening.
  4. Pull the right side out through the opening. Stuff inside with polyfill.  Sew to close the opening with a blanket stitch.

Half n' half cookie:

  1. Cut a circle out of tan felt.
  2. Cut a semicircle out of brown and baby pink felt each with the same diameter as the tan circle.
  3. Sew the brown and pink semicircles together along their straight edge to form a circle.
  4. Sew the red heart in its middle (on the right side).
  5. With right sides facing each other, sew the brown-pink circle and the tan circle together leaving an inch opening.
  6. Pull the right side out through the opening.  Stuff inside with polyfill.  Sew to close the opening with a blanket stitch.

Rainbow cookie:

  1. Cut out rectangle strips of the rainbow-colored felt (length 5", width 1" each).
  2. Sew them together (two at a time) along the long edge using 1/4" seam allowance. Now you should have a big rectangle of rainbow felt.
  3. Cut a circle out of this.
  4. Cut a circle out of the ivory felt with the same diameter.
  5. Sew the two circles with right sides facing each other leaving an inch opening.
  6. Pull the right side out through the opening.  Stuff inside with polyfill.  Sew to close the opening with a blanket stitch.

Enjoy!
